2024 National Tea Competition 2nd Place winner in the Kamairicha category (Ministry of Agriculture Farming Division Manager Award 農林水産省農産局長賞) - this tea from renowned tea farm Kai Tea Garden was shaded for an ultra delicate leaf and lightly pan-roasted before rolling and drying.
Unlike regular Kamairicha, competition grade / shaded kamairicha is light and delicate, rather than full-bodied and toasty. This creates a curled, sencha-like deep green leaf.

- 2nd Steeping - Time: 10 sec. Water: 70C/158F degrees, 100 ml.
