About Banko Ware

Banko Ware is a traditional Japanese ceramic style from Mie Prefecture, particularly known for its teapots. The region has a long history of tea ware production, and Banko Ware teapots are valued for both their distinctive forms and practical functionality.

About Iroku

Iroku is a long-established maker of Banko Ware teapots in Yokkaichi, Mie Prefecture. The Iroku tradition dates back to the late 19th century and has been passed down through generations.

Iroku is known for its distinctive decorative techniques, including finely carved patterns created directly on the surface of the clay. These patterns add texture and create subtle variations in light across the surface of the teapot.

The combination of traditional craftsmanship and decorative detail gives Iroku teapots a distinctive character while retaining their functionality for everyday tea preparation.
