Carefully handpicked only from the softest, tender “miru” buds (young, delicate tea leaves harvested early) that quietly sprout on the spring mountains, Fushun is a rare tea variety prized for its refreshing aroma and gently sweet flavor.
\n
We gently pan-roast these delicate new leaves, blending the subtly toasty scent unique to ‘pan-roasted’ tea with Fushun’s bright and light fragrance. The result is a tender, lingering finish reminiscent of a gentle spring breeze.
\n
With each sip, your palate is filled with the fresh breath of verdant mountains and the soft umami of the young miru buds.

About Shibakiri Tea Garden
\n
Tea farmer Sugiyama Tadashi grows various cultivars on a few small fields in the mountain village of Mohata, Shimizu City, Shizuoka. Though the Sugiyama family had been farming since 1920, Tadashi himself inherited the farm in 2018 when his father unfortunately passed away. The tea community around him is helping to teach him to create amazing, high-grade teas at very small quantities of a few kilograms to a few dozen kilograms in some cases.

Produced using first flush spring leaves and the pan-fired (kamairi) method of processing, the leaves are rolled, dried in a greenhouse under the sunlight. The leaves are then stored in Mitocha's warehouse for a certain period of time before releasing for sale without a final roasting. Suitable for further aging.
Mitocha's farmer Kayashita-san believes this tea will continue to become "softer" as it ages. You can think of it as an unroasted puerh tea.
