A black matcha bowl made in the Minoyaki tradition of Gifu Prefecture, the bowl features the kohiki technique in which an extra layer of clay is glazed over a base clay, then layered again with another glaze.
Meant to be aged - staining unique to your own use
The kohiki techniques also means that the glaze is not a perfect seal, and the bowl is made to be "aged". Liquid is allowed to seep into the base clay and it dries slowly creating stains. How you "age" this bowl will determine its nature and become personal to your own collection.
